Question: sandy paterson How are these exhibitions funded and how much funding is now in place. How are the artists protected if their work is not returned for whatever reason.
Answer: Nadya Odegova Dear Ms. Paterson! Thank you for your questions. Usually all our exhibitions are funded by two ways: 1) By a host party (governmental support). For instance our upcoming international exhibition that will be held in September 2010 in Khanty-Mansiysk will be fully financed by the Directorate of the 39th World Chess Olympiade. Our exhibitional costs in 2005-2010 were also covered by host parties: exhibition hall, publicity, opening ceremony. We paid only transport costs. 2) By own funds. Ekaterinburg Art Foundation is a large Creative-Production Corporation. We work in the sphere of monumental-decorative art, restoration and recreation of the monuments of history, designing of the city territories and public-service institutions, creating VIP interiors and architectural lightining. You can look at what we have done at http://www.exf.ru/?page=gallery These works are all realized – from idea to putting into operation. The web-site is only in Russian because we have been working for 13 years for Russian clients only (incl. government orders), but the pictures can provide insight into the scale of our work. All our exhibitions are being realized by Non-profit Foundation “Ekaterinburg Art Foundation” which is a part of Creative-Production Corporation “Ekaterinburg Art Foundation” Ltd. Our Russian exhibition “In Family Unity is The Unity of the Nation” (only Russian artists) has been held in 25 cities of Russia including such status venues as: 1) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Moscow. The party meeting with foreign ambassadors in honor of the Day of Russian Federation (June 12, 2008). 2) State Council of the Russian Federation, Moscow (October 2008). 3) The Kremlin, Moscow, Building of the President's Administration of the Russian Federation (November 10 - December 8, 2008). 4) State Academic Philharmonic Society, Ekaterinburg - cultural programs of the international summits of Shanghai Cooperation Organization and BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India, China economic union) (June 2009). 5) State Duma of the Russian Federation, Moscow. Hall in front of the plenary meeting chamber (11-13 November 2009). 6) International Koltsovo Airport, Ekaterinburg (December 16 – January 20, 2009-2010) 7) The Cathedral on Blood, Ekaterinburg (April 15- April 20, 2010) 8) The Cathedral of the Redeemer, Moscow (May 2010).
